PREP ROUNDUP: Duluth powers past Gainesville

GAINESVILLE -- Led by six no-hit innings by Jeanie Perrucci, the Duluth bats backed up the pitcher in an 11-1 thumping of Gainesville on Wednesday.

Perrucci struck out eight and walked two in a one-run outing for the Wildcats on the mound. Kayla Brown went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Cassie Kooker and Lindsey McKinney each went 2-for-4 for Duluth (8-1).


Dacula 5, Mountain View 4

DACULA -- Sam Cates notched the game-winning RBI with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Dacula over Mountain View 5-4.

In the win, Kristin Lizardi was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, Kendra Pfister was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Katie Mack was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Keeli Waugh (2-4) got the win, pitching all seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out seven for the Falcons (6-5-1).

Parkview 8, Shiloh 0

LILBURN -- Parkview's Amanda Chambers and Kylie Gabrielson combined to strike out nine batters in an 8-0 shutout of Shiloh.

Jordan Moody was 1-for-2, Taylor Murhead was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI and Patty Dennison was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Panthers (7-1, 1-0).

West Forsyth 5, Mill Creek 2

HOSCHTON -- West Forsyth struck for three runs in the eighth inning to pull away from Mill Creek for a 5-2 win Wednesday.

Pitcher Kaitlyn Howell threw all eight innings in the loss and Morgan Bell was 1-for-3 with both Mill Creek (7-2-1) RBIs.

Whitewater 6, Collins Hill 3

SUWANEE -- Payton Wilson and Kerry Barrientos went 1-for-2 and combined to score three runs, but it wasn't enough in a 6-3 loss to Whitewater.

Amanda Chance took the loss, pitching four innings and allowing two earned runs with five strikeouts. Aeshia Miles finished the game, pitching a scoreless three innings and striking out two for the Eagles (8-2).

Walnut Grove 6, Lanier 4

SUGAR HILL -- Hannah Coursey made Lanier history with the first ever home run hit at Lanier on a 2-for-3 night for the Longhorns, who fell 6-4 to Walnut Grove.

Sister Holland Coursey was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Keisha Stone was 2-for-4 for Lanier (7-8-1) in the loss.

Wesleyan 4, St. Pius 3

NORCROSS -- CaraMia Tsirigos homered and scored two runs to lead Wesleyan to a 4-3 win over St. Pius X.

Katie Frerking was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and an RBI and Dacia Jones went 2-for-3 with a home run and got the win on the mound pitching six innings and allowing no earned runs off of one hit and two strikeouts for Wesleyan (12-3).

Providence 14, Pace 11

ATLANTA -- Providence withstood rains and a big comeback attempt by Pace to hang on for a 14-11 win Wednesday.

The Storm led by as much as 13-3 before the comeback. Brittany Tuttle was a perfect 4-for-4 with four steals and RBI and a double. Jessie Kowalewicz walked three times on a 2-for-2 ninth with a two-run homer, three RBIs and four runs scored. Amber Roberts was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Aubrey Gold and Katy Barry each had a hit, RBI and scored a run for the Storm (2-9).
