SUWANEE -- Want to learn how to cook? Try out new cooking techniques? Or just want something different to do? Starting today, Moondance Restaurant and Lounge is offering cooking classes featuring the eatery's executive chef Todd Paige and pastry chef Paul Raiz.
Today, the class will learn how to prepare lentil stew and PEI (Prince Edward Island) mussels steamed in a white wine and cream sauce with tomatoes, shallots, garlic and basil.
On Sept. 9, the class will create a spinach salad with a warm balsamic dressing, then make a sauteed salmon with garlic and lemon asparagus served with fingerling potatoes.
For the final class on Sept. 16, the group will work side-by-side with Chef Raiz to learn the secrets of baking creme brulee and a New York style cheesecake.
Besides chopping and dicing, the chefs-to-be also receive a tour of the kitchen, a complimentary cocktail or glass of wine, and a certificate of completion, plus the opportunity to eat the prepared meals.
It is $50 per class or $125 for the three-class series. The classes are from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. All participants must register in advance. To reserve your spot, visit www.moondancelounge.com/restaurant/cooking-classes.
Moondance is located at 300 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Suwanee.
