City officials expect the trail to be re-opened in September.A resurfacing project of 3.22 miles of Suwanee roads began last week. Pierce Arrow Circle was the first on the list to be finished.
The resurfacing of 3.22 miles of streets and a public works parking lot is being done by Allied Paving Contractors of Pendergrass.
Public Works Director James Miller said the project consists of milling, patching, resurfacing, shoulder work, grassing and striping roads for traffic control.
The majority of the work is expected to be finished by mid-September. The shoulder work and grassing is expected to be finished by October, Miller said.
Allied Paving listed the priority order of streets below. The cost of the project is $709,412.21.

3. Suwanee Avenue
4. Russell Street
5. Russell Stree/King Street/Martin Farm Road
6. Virginia Avenue
7. Namasco Drive
8. Public Works Facility Parking Lot
9. Settles Bridge Road
10. Treemont Lane
11. Rolling Pin Lane
12. Sawmill Court
