LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Lake Lanier Association is hosting the 24th annual Shore Sweep Sept. 29.
Twelve locations lake-wide are participating, including Aqualand, Bald Ridge, Gainesville, Habersham, Hideaway Bay, Holiday, Lanier Harbor, Port Royale, Sunrise Cove marinas, Lake Lanier Islands, Clarks Bridge and War Hill parks.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers should report to a participating location to pick up trash bags and a shoreline area assignment for trash collection. All volunteers turning in at least one full bag of trash receive a T-shirt.

Two mobile, interactive whiteboards were set up earlier this month in the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classrooms. According to a news release from the school, the children "are already enjoying the benefits of this state-of-the-art learning experience."
At the Goddard School, children from 6 weeks to 6 years are "encouraged to develop at their own pace in a nurturing environment supported by a team of dedicated teachers."
