ATLANTA -- The last time Camden County played in the Corky Kell Classic it went on to win the state title that year.

The Wildcats appeared to be in championship form on Saturday at the Georgia Dome.

Quarterback Brice Ramsey threw three touchdowns as the Wildcats rolled to a 42-0 victory over Peachtree Ridge.

"They are a good program. They are a well-oiled machine," Peachtree Ridge head coach Mark Fleetwood said. "It's rolling pretty good. They played good and hard and we didn't."

It's the largest margin of defeat for Peachtree Ridge since the school's second year of existence in 2004, when it lost games 49-0 and 47-0.

"We didn't execute on either side of the ball or the kicking game," Fleetwood said. "When you play a team like Camden, they let you know really quickly where you stand."

Camden lost to Grayson in the 2009 Corky Kell, but won its final 12 games that year including the state title.

This year's team features two of the state's top players in quarterback Ramsey and running back/receiver J.J. Green. The duo are committed to Georgia and connected in the second quarter when Green caught a 34-yard TD pass. Green also had 68 yards rushing, while Ramsey was 3 of 4 for 103 yards. All three completions when for TDs of 34, 8 and 61 yards.

"They are good players, they really are," Fleetwood said. "The Ramsey kid is quite athletic. J.J. is extremely fast, knows how to carry the ball and has good vision."

Camden took the opening drive and missed a 38-yard field goal. After Peachtree Ridge bobbled the snap on the punt, the Wildcats got the ball back at the Lions 29-yard line.

Antonio Wimbush scored on a two-yard run for the early 7-0 lead.

The Lions responded with a 60-yard drive, but missed a 40-yard field goal.

Camden came right back with Jacob Johnson rumbling for a 19-yard score and a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Green's touchdown catch, which he bobbled on the way in the end zone, made it 21-0 with 8:02 in the half.

Peachtree Ridge attempted another field goal from 27 yards out before the half, but missed.

"That crushed us. At this point in the game, we're too young to rebound from it," Fleetwood said. "I think that sort of was a stake in the heart thing."

Peachtree Ridge didn't help itself with 11 penalties for 83 yards.

"We've got a lot of work to do," Fleetwood said. "I knew coming in it would be a hard task."

Peachtree Ridge opened the third quarter by moving the ball until Bryson Sellers threw an interception to Kalvarez Bassenet, who returned it 47 yards for a touchdown.

"That broke the back for sure," Fleetwood said. "We were actually moving the ball a little bit."

Sellers was 11 of 19 for 129 yards and completed passes to seven different receivers. Myron Burton was his leading receiver with five catches for 41 yards. Walden Davis rushed for 42 yards on 14 carries.

Ramsey threw an eight-yard TD to Conner Lockhart with 4:38 left in the third for a 35-0 lead.

The Wildcats added another score with a 61-yard touchdown catch by Marcus Jordan for a 42-0 lead and the fourth quarter running clock mercy rule.

"The kids didn't quit and that's what I'm proud of," Fleetwood said. "But we have to grow up. We have to do better as a coaching staff. We have to do better across the board."
