DACULA -- Six people were transported to area hospitals late Friday night following a wrong way crash on Ga. 316.
The head-on collision occurred in the east bound lanes at the intersection with Winder Highway at about 10:30 p.m., said Sgt. Rich Long with the Gwinnett County Police Department. Patients were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.
Two people who were transported were in critical condition, including a 12-year-old who was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
Their conditions were not available on Saturday evening, Long said.
The wrong way driver was charged with DUI, but Long said on Saturday evening that he didn't have names available of anyone involved in the crash. Long said he did not know how many were entrapped in the crash.
