Federal agents raid 4 Atlanta area smoking shops

ATLANTA (AP) — Federal agents have raided four metro Atlanta smoking shops seeking evidence related to synthetic marijuana and bath salts.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office no arrests were made during the Tuesday raids. The raids occurred at Smoke 911 shops in Acworth, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Woodstock.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said five typed of synthetic marijuana are designated as controlled substances under federal law.

Bath salts are typically sold in powder and pill form and have effects similar to those caused by methamphetamines, Ecstasy and cocaine.

Federal authorities have not said what items were seized during the raids.
