PEACHTREE CITY — Duluth's softball team rolled to three lopsided wins Saturday in the Leadoff Classic at McIntosh.
The Wildcats (6-1) beat Fayette County 11-2 in the opener behind pitcher Jeanie Perrucci's one-hitter with six strikeouts. Perrucci also was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Teammates Lindsey McKinney (1-for-2, RBI), Amanda Simpson (inside-the-park home run, two RBIs) and Reina Sycamore (1-for-3, triple) also had big games at the plate.
Duluth then routed McIntosh 10-0 and Perrucci pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts. Cassie Kooker (1-for-2, two RBIs), Sycamore (2-for-3), Kayla Brown (2-for-2, two RBIs) and Simpson (2-for-2) led the offense.
In the third game, Duluth beat Strong Rock 7-0 in a dominant effort by Perrucci, who threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Kooker (1-for-2, RBI), Jessica Brown (2-for-3) and Megan Sheridan (1-for-3, double, two RBIs) led the offense.
