ATLANTA — Emergency crews have ended their second day of a search for a man who went missing after jumping from a sailboat into Lake Lanier.
Hall County officials spent Sunday using sonar to search for 44-year-old Jeffrey Nause. He was last seen early Saturday after jumping into the water near the Lake Lanier islands. Witnesses said Nause became distressed and went underwater.
Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks of the Hall County Sheriff's Office said the case is being investigated as an accidental drowning.
Media reports have said Nause is a Georgia Tech alum and the CEO of a semi-conductor company.
