LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnettians will have two opportunities to find jobs this week.
On Tuesday, the Georgia Department of Labor's Gwinnett Career Center and the Crossroads Career Network will co-sponsor their eighth annual Career Expo.
Later in the week, on Thursday, is the annual Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Business Expo and Job Fair.
Between the two, people can get in contact with hundreds of companies. Officials for both encourage participant to dress appropriately, bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to interview for available job openings.
The Department of Labor event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Snellville United Methodist Church, features 40 employers and resource agencies.
Participants include: Advanced Disposal Systems, Aloricares, Applebee's, Atlanta Electrical Contractors, Calo International, Charter Communications, Chico's, Comcast, Crossroads Career Network, Disabled American Veterans, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Experis, Farmers Insurance, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Firestone, Georgia Department of Drivers Services, Genuine Parts Company, Goodwill of North Georgia, Gwinnett Technical College-Veterans Affairs Office, Gwinnett Schools (Nutrition and Transportation Departments), Gwinnett County Police Department, Healthport Technologies, House of Hawks (OTR Drivers), Impact Staffing, LGS Staffing, Lowe's, Meggitt Training Systems Inc., Metro PCS, Perimeter Staffing Placements, Schneider National Inc., Spirit Halloween, Staffing Advantage, Summitridge Hospital, The Vet Center-Lawrenceville, U.S. Army Reserve, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Navy Reserve, UCall & IHaul, Weiser Security Services and Wells Fargo.
Thursday's Chamber of Commerce event is expected to feature more than 200 companies and draw more than 5,000 attendees. It will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Gwinnett Civic Center in Duluth.
In addition to the job fair, the Business Expo allows people to network and learn about opportunities for businesses to work together. And participants can earn points for a silent auction.
