LAWRENCEVILLE -- After a long week at work, sometimes all you want is a good laugh. The Aurora Theatre understands how that feels, and that's why it has brought back its once-a-month stand-up comedy night, Funny Fridays, with the addition of Saturdays, too.

"This season we took a chance and added Funny Fridays: Saturday Edition because I'm confident folks will want to see comedy shows on Saturday as well as Friday," said Anthony Rodriguez, Aurora Theatre producing artistic director. "Since we brought on comedienne Debra Cole to host and help with our comedy nights, we have seen some great talent come through Aurora Theatre. We are really excited to have Jarrod Harris as a headliner for our upcoming weekend of stand-up comedy. I was surprised to see his Web series Action Figure Therapy had over two million views on YouTube, until I watched one -- this guy is funny."

Headliner Harris has also been seen on "Live at Gotham" on Comedy Central and "Lopez Tonight" on TBS.

"I'm excited to come back," Harrid said. "It is a treat for comedians to get to perform in such a top-notch venue. With the great and supportive Funny Fridays audience, I know it is going to be a blast."

Joining Harris on stage today and Saturday are bearded comedians Paul Gallois and Matt Pharr, plus Cole (without a beard) who hosts the show.

Cole, host of Aurora Theatre Funny Fridays since this past January, is known to Atlanta comedy enthusiasts for her wry humor and rapid-fire style.

Gallois is a strong comedic embodiment of "Everyman," a story-teller with a self-deprecating style that requests no pity. Pharr has recently made the leap to full-time comic.

Funny Fridays returns Oct. 19 and 20 with Steve Mingolla.
