LAWRENCEVILLE -- On Tuesday Gwinnett County sheriff's deputies arrested a Lawrenceville man accused of raping a teen girl over the weekend.
Duoc Thang Nguyen was arrested after sheriff's department fugitive investigators conducted surveillance at his home on Avalon Forest Drive in Lawrenceville. Nguyen was seen exiting his home and "an investigator followed the vehicle and contacted a Gwinnett County police zone unit to conduct a 'pullover' at the intersection of Cruse Road and Bethesda School Road," sheriff's department spokesman Lt. Sean Smith said.
Warrants had been issued Sunday by Norcross police, charging Nguyen with burglary and rape. The alleged rape occurred at about 3 p.m. Saturday at the victim's home on Williams Place, Norcross police spokesman Capt. Brian Harr said.
"I can't really provide much more (about the incident) than that," Harr said. The suspect and alleged victim, who is 16 years old, knew each other, officials said.
Nguyen's age was unclear Wednesday afternoon. Gwinnett County jail records show he is being held without bond.
