DULUTH -- Partial to bluegrass and chili?
You'll fit right in at the second annual City Council Chili Cook-Off, scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday on the Town Green in Downtown Duluth.
The event will feature a beer garden, mini-pies, activities like tug of war, sack races, trivia and bluegrass music by Smokey's Farmland Band.
Admission is free as well as the chili-tasting. A fee will be charged by the vendors for other food and beverages. Large bowls of chili can be purchased by giving donations to the Hands of Christ food bank.
According to a news release, Smokey's Farmland Band blends musical influences "ranging from bluegrass to gypsy jazz to Cajun, creating a progressive sound they like to call Goodtime Eclectic Bluegrass."
Concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Outside food and beverage is welcome too.
