The Los Angeles Lakers, after an offseason of blockbuster moves, announced two final signings on Monday. One brought Norcross grad Jodie Meeks on board.

Meeks, a free agent after playing previously with the Philadelphia 76ers, signed a two-year deal with the Lakers, joining an organization that already had Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Metta World Peace. He joins a crop of Los Angeles newcomers headlined by Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

The compilation of talent is supposed to make a serious run at an NBA championship, giving Meeks a unique opportunity early in his career. He is expected to spell the aging Bryant's minutes at shooting guard, while giving the Lakers another 3-point shooting threat.

Meeks' two-year deal is reportedly worth $1.4 million for the first year and a team option for the second year that could be worth up to $2 million, according to ESPN.com via Meeks' agent.

The 6-foot-4 guard, who played at Kentucky after leaving Norcross, averaged 8.4 points and made 36.5 percent of his 3-pointers last season for Philadelphia's playoff team. He started 50 games, but made just one start in the Sixers' 13 playoff games.

His best season was 2010-11, when he started 64 games, averaged 10.5 points and made 39.7 percent of his 3-point shots.
