WINDER -- More than two dozen alleged drug dealers were arrested Sunday in Barrow County as part of a multi-agency roundup.
Barrow County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Matt Guthas announced Monday that 28 offenders were arrested in Sunday's action that also involved members of the Auburn, Winder and Statham police departments, as well as state probation and parole and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
"This large-scale arrest operation follows the culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Barrow County Crime Task Force," Guthas said. "Narcotics officers from Barrow and Winder made numerous undercover purchases of drugs and controlled substances in recent months, from dozens of separate offenders."
There was a total of about 75 people sought during the roundup, Guthas said. The sheriff's office "continues to search for the remaining offenders," he said.
