LAWRENCEVILLE — Braves starting pitcher Tommy Hanson, on the disabled list with a lower back strain, will make his first start since the injury in a rehab stint Sunday for the G-Braves.
The right-hander is expected to throw five innings and stay around 85 pitches or so.
This will be Hanson's first return to Gwinnett since he made 11 starts as a G-Brave in 2009 before being called up to Atlanta. He was 3-3 with a 1.59 ERA in those 11 starts.
This season, Hanson was 12-5 with a 4.29 ERA in 22 starts with Atlanta before injuring his back.
