NORCROSS -- On Saturday from 12:30 to 4 p.m., Belk at the Forum on Peachtree Parkway is hosting Kid Fest during the tax free weekend to ring in the new school year.
During the day, Chef Jennifer Booker will create healthy treats for children, there will be two fashion shows in the kids department and families have a chance to take their picture with the Caribou moose, Chick-fil-A cow or an Atlanta Ballet Dancer. Local group the Oswald Brothers Band is performing in concert at the event.
Kid Fest is also about gearing up for class with school supplies. For $50, parents can purchase a pre-packed bookbag filled with paper, pencils, crayons, note cards, erasers and more. With each purchase, $5 is given to Cure Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit "dedicated to conquering childhood cancer."
