SNELLVILLE -- A new cardiologist has been added to the team at Piedmont Heart Institute, which provides heart care both in Atlanta and at Snellville's Eastside Medical Center.
PHI announced recently that Dr. Markus Porkert -- board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear cardiology -- joined their team after being a part of Lawrenceville's CardioVascular Group since 2006. Porkert has "extensive experience" with cardiac catheterizations, transesophogeal echocardiogram, transthoracic echocardiogram and nuclear cardiac studies.
"We're happy to have Dr. Porkert on board at Piedmont Heart," said Sidney Kirschner, PHI's CEO. "He is extremely qualified and brings a high level of expertise to our patients."
Porkert was available effective Monday, both in Atlanta and at his primary office location at Eastside Medical Center.
