DULUTH -- Two men who reportedly snatched purses from women at a Duluth mall and restaurant didn't get too far.
Alpharetta resident Danny Robinson, 21, and his alleged accomplice, Mateus Lopes, 20, of Duluth, are charged with two counts of robbery in the Friday evening thefts.
Gwinnett police were dispatched to the Santa Fe Mall, where a woman told them her purse was snatched by a man as she sat in the food court.
While police were checking the area, a similar robbery was reported at the Shogun Japanese Steakhouse in a nearby shopping center. Officers spotted Robinson and Lopes in a white van, roaring out of the parking lot, according to a Gwinnett police report.
Police stopped the van and detained both men. Items belonging to the victim of the restaurant robbery were found in the van, the report states.
Victims picked the suspects out of a photographic line-up prepared by police, the report states.
