LAWRENCEVILLE -- Lawrenceville police are searching for a man who robbed a beauty supply store Friday afternoon, at one point holding a gun to a cashier's head before making off with cash and hair weaves.
The robbery happened about 2 p.m. at Top Beauty Supply at 390 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville, where numerous people were shopping at the time, police said.
The gunman pulled a weapon from a backpack, demanded cash from a register, then put the gun to the clerk's head as she complied, police said.
He ordered another clerk to open his register, stuffed several hair weaves in the backpack, removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the second register and then left, said Lawrenceville police spokesman Capt. Greg Vaughn.
Vaughn said several customers provided police with detailed descriptions of the gunman. He is an 18-to-25-year old black man, between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 145 pounds with an athletic build, Vaughn said.
Police urge anyone with information to call the Lawrenceville Police Department at 770-963-2443.
