DULUTH -- Are you a member at the Hudgens Center for the Arts? If so, the center is looking for member only artists who would like to be part of its next exhibit, which will be displayed from Sept. 11 to Dec. 22.
"It's been some nine years since the last juried member's exhibit and we are so happy to be able to reintroduce this program," said Angela Nichols, director of programming and education at the Hudgens. "It is a wonderful way to celebrate our members who are artists by showing off their talent as well as support the arts in our own community."
The offer is open to all members of the Hudgens (18 years and older). For those who aren't a part of the Hudgens, but would like to be a part of the exhibit can purchase a membership to join. Membership is $20 for students and $30 for individuals.
Entries will be accepted between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1 in any of the following mediums: drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, glass, photography, fiber art and sculpture. The entry fees are $10 per piece.
Prizes at the exhibit include a "Best in Show" award of $100 and three honorable mention awards of $50 each to be selected by juror Jerry Cullum, who has served as an art critic since the early '80s.
