AUBURN -- Arts boosters in Auburn are looking to, ahem, harvest a few fine art and craft aficionados next month.
The Georgia Piedmont Arts Center is preparing to once again present the "Harvest of Art" festival. As usual, you'll find it on the lawn at the GPAC's art cottage in downtown Auburn. This year's fest is Sept. 8.
Harvest of Art will showcase fine art and fine craft artisans, said GPAC president Kathleen Gill.
Also expect a free children's art activity and free mini art lessons for adult festival attendees, as well as musical entertainment and, of course, food.
Relocated from Winder, the not-for-profit center occupies a historic house in downtown Auburn. Its mission is to "cultivate, facilitate and promote a community in which all art forms can thrive cooperatively," according to the center's website.
All artisans are invited to apply to the September fest.
Applications are available at the GPAC website, or by calling Kathleen Gill at 404-202-3044. For more information, see www.GeorgiaPiedmontArtsCenter.com
