Norris and Joan Allen of Duluth recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married July 20, 1947, by The Rev. Hillis McGinnis in Forsyth County.
Norris is retired, after 22 years, from Amoco Oil Company. Joan is retired but continues to volunteer at Duluth Baptist Church and Gwinnett Metro Baptist Association.
They have four children; Terry Allen, married to Lisa, Tamela Phillips Danzey, married to Rev. Mark Danzey, Trent Allen, married to Rhonda Brodka and a son, the late Timothy Allen. They also have three grandchildren, Adrian and Parker Allen and Tyler Phillips and three step-grandchildren; Savannah, Stephen and Sydnie Danzey.
They celebrated with a trip together.
