WATKINSVILLE (AP) -- Police in the northeast Georgia town of Watkinsville are hoping to find the owner of a child's prosthetic leg found on the side of a road.
Authorities say a jogger found the small prosthesis with a sock on the foot July 23 while running on Barnett Shoals Road.
Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon says that he believes it fell from a moving vehicle since it had a scuff mark from where it slid across the pavement.
O'Dillon said it was made for a small child, possibly as young as 4 years old, who is missing the lower left leg from about halfway down the calf. Its shell is painted dark blue with colorful planets.

Should be easy to find the owner: Every prosthetic has a serial ID etched/printed on it somewhere, which can be looked up by authorities in a national database, to get the name and address.
