LAWRENCEVILLE -- Fire investigators have charged a Lawrenceville woman with first-degree arson for setting her bathroom ablaze last month, an official said Thursday.
Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Patricia Griffith on Wednesday, following an investigation into a July 22 fire at her home in the 1000 block of Oak Moss Drive in Lawrenceville, said Fire Department spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden.
Fire crews responded to Griffith's residence on that date to extinguish a fire in the bathroom. She was hospitalized but not charged initially, Rhoden said.
No information on fire damages or Griffith's alleged motive was available Thursday.
In addition to the arson charge, Griffith is accused of giving a false name or information to law enforcement. She remains at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
