George Morin's views on life and politics will be greatly missed ("Remembering ol' 'Georgie Boy," Aug. 1, 5A). Although I rarely agreed with him, I enjoyed the controversy he stirred -- as did he.
George was just an old liberal hippie from Connecticut who spoke his mind. I knew when I saw the tag line in the paper -- George Morin, Auburn -- he was going to cause a stir, again. Hopefully your readers will remember him -- not just because he was a liberal in a conservative area -- but because he wanted people to think for themselves and not follow the status quo.
