LILBURN -- Gwinnett's newest community improvement district is looking for some help in designing a new logo.
The Lilburn CID's original logo, which is designed to look like an upscale street sign, was designed by a group of business owners during the formation stage of the business organization.
But leaders want a new symbol, icon or image "that will represent the goals and purpose of the CID," a press release said. The winning designer will be awarded $500.
A desire to place the logo on street mast arms in the district drove the idea to create a new image, leaders said, so the design will have to be flexible. It must go be able to go atop letterhead, as well as 3- to 4-foot by 6- to 7-foot street banners and the "internally illuminated" LED street signage (8 inches by 18 inches) on mast arms, which are 18 inches high by 10 feet wide.
"Since the logo will be placed on a state-funded highway project, the logo must not include letters or numbers. Only an image, icon or symbol will be permitted," the release said. "The length dimensions of the overall street signs located on the mast arm will vary based on the number of letters in the name of the street, but the dimensions of the image/icon/logo remain the same. The background color of the LED signs will be green. The logo will must look good in color as well as black and white."
Entries, which should be submitted as a scalable vector graphic in an EPS and JPG format, are due by noon May 25.
