Wrong-way driver collides with Greyhound bus

ATLANTA — Police say a driver was heading the wrong way on a metro Atlanta interstate when it rammed into a Greyhound bus northeast of the city.

Police say the SUV was traveling northbound in the sound bound lanes of I-85 when it struck a Greyhound bus going southbound between I-285 and Pleasantdale Road just before 5 a.m.

No injuries were reported on the Greyhound bus. The passengers were loaded onto another bus after the accident shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital. His condition wasn't known.

Thanks to the local TV news crews for causing another traffic jam by broadcasting from the shoulder of I-85 at Spaghetti Junction long after this wreck had been cleared. "We're live at the scene of an accident that occurred two hours ago........."
