North Gwinnett Middle Council needs parents

The North Gwinnett Middle School Council is looking for two parents to serve on the council on a two-year position beginning next school year. The school council is an advisory board where information is shared regarding the school and any concerns from the community. To apply, fill out a form on the school’s web site and return it to Theresa Powell by April 27. Voting will be on April 30.

Peachtree Ridge to hold physicals

Peachtree Ridge High School will have athletics physicals on April 28 from 8 a.m. to noon in the school’s gym. The cost is $10 and will cover any sport at the high school through next school year. For more information, email Mark_Fleetwood@gwinnett.k12.ga.us.

North Senior Week held last week in April

North Gwinnett High Senior Week will be April 30 to May 4, and will include dress-up days, a senior breakfast and a lunch on Friday. The dress-up days on Senior Week will be Circus Day, Kindergarten Day, Decade Day and Movie Character Day. Parent volunteers are needed from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on May 1 to decorate the senior hall. Parents are encouraged to bring streamers, balloons and posters. Email barbie_nelson@gwinnett.k12.ga.us if you would like to volunteer.

Bulldogs’ to host lift-a-thon

The North Gwinnett football team will have a lift-a-thon on May 4 to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. Delta Community Bank matches all funds raised. Lori Manning, a spokesperson for the Class of 2013, said the event is expected to raise more than $40,000.

North Middle awards program

The North Gwinnett Middle School awards program will be the week of May 14. Sixth and seventh grades will be May 14 and 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the school’s cafeteria. The eight-grade program will be at 6:30 p.m. on May 17 at Sugar Hill Baptist Church.
