Former Norcross standout Max Garcia, who decided to transfer from Maryland after last season, announced his commitment Saturday to Florida.
The offensive tackle made his decision public via Twitter, choosing the Gators over Georgia, Ole Miss, Clemson and USC. He will have two seasons of eligibility left at Florida, but will have to sit out the 2012 season because of the transfer.
Garcia, who transferred to be closer to his Norcross home, was one of only five true freshmen to play for Maryland in 2010, then started all 12 games last season at left tackle.
