ORLANDO -- The Georgia Force rallied from 10 points down at halftime to pull even in the fourth quarter, but Mark Lewis' field goal with 38 seconds left lifted the host Orlando Predators to a 27-24 victory Friday night at the Amway Center.
The loss dropped the Force (3-3) into a three-way tie with Tampa Bay and New Orleans for the lead in the Arena Football League's South Division, while it gave Orlando (1-5) its first win of the season.
R.J. Archer completed 30 of 50 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns, while Larry Shipp hauled in 15 of those completions for 150 yards and a score.
But the Force coughed up the ball on two fumbles, and Justin Roper threw for two touchdowns, both to Dwayne Eley, and Lewis booted the game-winner from 35 yards out in the waning seconds.
Carlos Martinez had a chance to tie things up again on the game's last play, but missed wide right from 37 yards out.-- From staff reports
