GAC pair get national strength and conditioning awards

Greater Atlanta Christian athletes Cii Cii Buford and LaVondre Nelson were selected recently by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year. A total of 225 college and high school athletes from around the country were picked for the honor.

Buford, a junior, holds school records in the back squat (285), clean (175) and deadlift (330). She also runs a 4.59-second pro-agility drill and has a 25-inch vertical leap.

Nelson, a senior, runs a sub-4.3-second 40-yard dash and squats 525, cleans 285 and benches 285 on his 165-pound frame. A 3.97 GPA student, he will play football at Princeton.
