A "Tomatoes 101" class will be taught at 9 a.m. Saturday in the garden by the garden's education Chairperson Julie Chahboune. The class will focus on growing, fertilizing, and harvesting tomatoes. Starter plants grown by Harvest Farm master gardeners will also be for sale as part of a fundraiser for the garden. There will be herbs, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and squash.

"You don't have to be a Harvest Farm gardener to come out and get helpful gardening tips and some great plants," Harvest Farm Communications Chairperson Cris Koenigs said in a press release. "So come out and be inspired to start your own garden or vegetable container on your patio."

Woody's Nursery also will also sell organic vegetable and herb starters at the event, which starts at 8:30 a.m. The nursery will offer a 10 percent discount on companion and pollinator plants.
