GAB: Housing agency holds yard sale fundraiser

NORCROSS -- The IMPACT! Group plans a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 604 Beaver Ruin Road, Norcross. All proceeds from the sale will help to provide assistance services to homeless families in the organization's Transitional Housing Program.

The sale will feature a variety of office furniture and decor including shelves, desks and chairs as well as home items and clothing.

"Through the generous support of our community partners, we will be able to offer a range of items," said Tom Merkel, IMPACT! Group President. "The yard sale will help us to continue providing supportive services for the homeless families in our program. It's a win-win situation."

The IMPACT! Group Transitional Housing Program assists 22 homeless families at a given time. Each family that enters the program receives subsidized housing and intensive case management.

More than 90 percent of the families that graduate the IMPACT! Transitional Housing Program remain independent of assistance a year later.
