James Herbert “Jim” Dowis, age 70 of Gainesville, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-9 PM Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Mr. Dowis was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville and owner of Gwinnett Tax Services in Lawrenceville and Buford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferd & Becky Dowis and sister, Ann Whitworth. Mr. Dowis is survived by his Children: Robin Roof-Brown, Buford; Chad Dowis, Braselton; Ashley Powell, Gainesville; Heather Lougher, Jefferson; 8 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild.
