December 28, 1931 - April 6, 2012 William Charles Waggoner passed away on Friday April 6, 2012. Beloved husband of 57 years to MaryAnn Coughlin Waggoner; loving father to Patricia Anne Mayes (Scottie), William Michael Waggoner (Rosemary), Gary James Waggoner (Cindy), Timothy Charles Waggoner (Maria), Mary Beth Glynn (Patrick); Grandfather of Justin, Jennifer, Andrew, Amanda, Courtney, Evan, Molly, Sydney, Parker and Liam; Great-Grandfather of Alex, Nicholas and Noelle; and brother to Paul Waggoner (Judy). He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Carr Waggoner; his father Edward Parker Waggoner, a brother, Robert Waggoner. Age 80 years; he was born in Buffalo, NY, a graduate of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He lived and worked his entire career in Buffalo and Syracuse NY, at the time of his death was a resident of Suwanee, GA. As a life- long patriot, he served in active duty in the Navy as a fighter pilot then later served his country in both the Air Force and Air National Guard retiring as a Major. A Syracuse University School of Management graduate he spent his entire 34 year career at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation. Retiring to Georgia in 1990, while in Georgia, his hobbies included computers, reading as well as multiple outdoor activities with a special interest in golf. But above all, as a loving and respected husband and father he enjoyed his family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Monica, 1700 Buford Highway, Duluth, GA 30097 with Father Thomas Zahuta serving as Celebrant. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be sent to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate – The National Shrine of our Lady of the Snows, 9480 North De Mazenod Drive, Belleville, IL 62223-1160 in memory of William Charles Waggoner.
