LAWRENCEVILLE -- Officials were investigating Tuesday afternoon a fatal car accident in Lawrenceville, authorities said.
Gwinnett County police were on the scene of the wreck that occurred at about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Sugarloaf Parkway. There was one confirmed fatality in the crash that involved a Jeep and a Chevrolet Camaro, police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter said.
There were no other details immediately available Tuesday afternoon.
The death would be the third traffic-related fatality in Gwinnett over a span of five days. Lawrenceville couple John and Donna Keese were killed during a four-car accident on I-985 South in Buford Friday.
The believed at-fault driver in that wreck, 38-year-old Stephen Scott, has been charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide.
A gasoline tanker also overturned in Dacula Monday, spilling thousands of gallons of fuel and closing U.S. Highway 29 for hours.
