PREP ROUNDUP: Tokarz Ks six in Broncos' win over Dacula

DACULA -- Brookwood pitcher Allen Tokarz struckout six batters to lead the Broncos to a 6-2 win over Dacula on Saturday.

Tokarz went seven innings, allowing two runs, four hits and two walks. Cedric Mullins (2-for-4, RBI), Michael Gouge (2-for-3, RBI), Lucas Sims (2-for-2, three RBIs, home run) and Garret Reynolds (1-for-3, RBI) led the Broncos (9-6, 5-2) at the plate.

Matt Cole (0-2) was the losing pitcher for Dacula, going 4 innings and allowing six runs off nine hits. Cole was 1-for-3 at the plate, while Travis Vanderhorst, Michael Barnes and Brandyn Bartlett also had a hit for the Falcons (4-14, 3-5).

BASEBALL

Hebron splits doubleheader

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Hebron defeated Pell City 13-8 and then lost to host Hoover 4-3 on Saturday.

Against Pell City, Andrew Mulnar pitched four innings, striking out five and allowing two earned runs to get the win. Benji Cash was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, Jordan Hillyer was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Brady Shoppe was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Lions (14-2, 10-0).

Against Hoover, Hillyer was the losing pitcher going six innings and allowing one earned run and striking out eight. He was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and Tyler Hutch was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Wesleyan 9, Brookstone 3

NORCROSS -- Six Wesleyan pitchers combined to get the win as the Wolves defeated Brookstone 9-3 on Saturday.

Griffin Bone led the Wolves (8-8) at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Jamie Stark was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Fellowship 4, Providence 1

LILBURN -- Providence Christian tied the game 1-1 in the sixth inning, but a late rally lifted Fellowship Christian to a 4-1 victory on Saturday.

John Bailey produced the Stars' lone run when he singled, stole second base and scored on Austin Loyd's sixth-inning double. Josh Carter also had a hit for Providence (11-8, 5-4), which managed only three hits on the day.

BOYS SOCCER

Parkview 2, Providence 1

LILBURN -- Parkview scored two goals in the second half to defeat Providence 2-1 on Saturday.

Jimmy Dyer scored the game-winning goal for the Panthers and also scored the first goal off a Jonathan Jarrett assist.

The Stars' (7-7) goal came from Josh Platillero on an assist from Taylor Henry. Goalkeeper Adam Flowers made 11 saves.

Norcross 3, Northview 0

NORCROSS -- Three different players scored goals as Norcross defeated Northview 3-0 on Saturday. The Blue Devils (5-9-1, 1-4) got goals from Christian Perez, Jacob Greifer and Alonzo Vega.

GIRLS SOCCER

Norcross 2, Alpharetta 1

NORCROSS -- Jordan Brown scored both goals as Norcross defeated Alpharetta 2-1 on Saturday. The Blue Devils are now 5-9-1 on the season.

Mill Creek 1, Northview 0

JOHNS CREEK -- Megan Hatfield scored the game's lone goal off a Cortney Emmert assist on Saturday as Mill Creek defeated Northview 1-0. The Hawks (9-3-1) also got five saves and a shutout from goalkeeper Rachel Allred.
