Virginia Johnson of Lilburn announces the engagement of her daughter, Donna Raye Johnson of Lilburn to James Michael Brown of Lawrenceville, son of Dorothy Brown of Oak Ridge, Tenn.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Albert R. Johnson and the granddaughter of the late Albert N. and Jennie Johnson and the late Norbert S. and Gladys Blades. She is a graduate of Berkmar High School; Emory University, where she received a master's degree in foreign language education; Middlebury French School, where she received a master's degree in French; and the University of Georgia, where she received a master's degree in romance languages. She is employed with Parkview High School as a French teacher.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Patrick and Mary Brown and the late Arthur and Florence Anderson. He is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School; the University of Tennessee, where he received a master's degree in library science; and the University of Georgia, where he received a specialist's degree in instructional technology and library media. He is employed with Bethesda Elementary School as a media specialist.
The wedding is planned for June 9 at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church.
