MACON, Ga. (AP) -- A hearing is set for the Lilburn man accused of killing a Mercer University law school graduate.
Stephen McDaniel is expected to enter a plea of not guilty at the Tuesday hearing. A bond hearing is expected immediately afterward.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against McDaniel. He's accused of killing Lauren Giddings, who was last seen on June 25. Five days later, police discovered her torso wrapped in plastic in a garbage bin beside her apartment building.
The 27-year-old Giddings was from Laurel, Md.
