BUFORD -- Gwinnett police have charged a South Carolina man with trafficking thousands of dollars worth of bogus designer purses and hundreds of fake DVDs.
Police on Saturday afternoon arrested Larenzo Heard, 36, of Anderson, S.C., on Interstate 85 near Buford.
According to his arrest warrants, Heard had more than 250 counterfeit DVD movies including recent titles like "The Hunger Games" in addition to an estimated $10,000 in purses.
The purse brands in question included Coach, Louis Vitton, Dolce and Gabana and Michael Kors, the warrants state.
Heard was arrested on felony charges of reproducing recorded material and counterfeiting trademarks. He posted $16,900 bond the day after his arrest.
The alleged bust wasn't the only recent haul of black-market merchandise police made on I-85.
In February, Gwinnett police uncovered an estimated $11,000 cache of Nike shoes in the trunk of a Pontiac during a traffic stop near Buford.
The three suspects arrested were from South Carolina. One woman told police she'd been given the shoes at a flea market.
