SUWANEE -- Brenau University is offering a new MBA program in Suwanee for those interested in earning their master's in business.
The master of business administration program will begin in fall 2012 on the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
President Ed Schrader said the new program at GA-PCOM "is a natural extension of the outstanding relationship that exists already between Brenau and PCOM. It provides another convenient location for the market for higher education in Gwinnett County, which is an extremely important base for the growth and academic expansion of Brenau University."
The university is accepting applications for the program, which will be available to PCOM medical students as well as others seeking proficiency in any of several business specialties including health care, project management, finance, accounting, international business, general management and insurance.
In addition to its home campus in Gainesville, Brenau has a location in Gwinnett County, the North Atlanta/Norcross campus, which offers undergraduate and graduate studies.
An additional location for the MBA, Schrader said, stems from the partnership between Brenau and PCOM for a dual degree physician assistant program with the undergraduate component offered through Brenau, graduate medical studies at PCOM's home campus in Pennsylvania and clinical practice in northeast Georgia.
"The core courses that Brenau will offer in Suwanee will provide the heart of the MBA degree," Schrader said. "These courses are the common foundation required for all professional administrators whether they're involved in health care, accounting, international business, insurance or managing a project to build a NASA space vehicle."
