The Atlanta Falcons have selected Parkview grad Michael Palmer, a second-year tight end, as the club's Community All-Star for the month of September.

Palmer was honored for his community service, which included purchasing preseason tickets and food vouchers for the Locust Grove football team, which had a teammate die in the preseason. He also participated in the Falcons' Sept. 11 event to honor Atlanta fire departments and donated 25 of his Extra Yard Partnership tickets to local firefighters.

On Monday, Dec. 5, Palmer and the other Falcons monthly winners will be recognized with a dinner. They also will be considered for the Falcons Man of the Year Award.
