HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh to come away with a 7-6 win over Peachtree Ridge in Region 7-AAAAA action Tuesday.
The winning run came on a double by Morgan Bell that scored Chandler Griffin. Bell finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Griffin was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run. Taylor Rogers also went 3-for-4 for Mill Creek (22-5-1, 10-1). Nikki Sagermann picked up the win in relief, going 2 innings with four strikeouts and three hits.
Kayla Jones, who finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Peachtree Ridge, tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the seventh with a home run. Other offensive standouts for the Lions (16-11, 6-6) were Noelle Kendig (3-for-4), Maiah Johnson (2-for-4) and Chandler Frisbie (2-for-4).
Collins Hill 8, Mt. View 0
SUWANEE -- Kayla Floor pitched five innings of two-hit ball with nine strikeouts on Tuesday night as Collins Hill shut out Mountain View 8-0 in five innings.
Emily Buck had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles (19-6, 8-3), while Brittany Roley added a 2-for-3 night with a run.
Shiloh 4, Parkview 2
SNELLVILLE -- Courtney Jones of Shiloh delivered a double and three RBIs on Tuesday night to help push the Generals 4-2 over Parkview in Region 8-AAAAA.
Amber Johnson stole three bases for Shiloh, while Jenna Carr earned the win on the mound. Shiloh improved to 19-7 overall and 4-3 in the region.
Duluth 11, Norcross 3
NORCROSS -- Casey Nellums and Toni Perrucci each went 2-for-3 with an RBI on Tuesday to help give Duluth an 11-3 win over Norcross in six innings for a Region 7-AAAAA win.
Jeanie Perrucci, who was also the winning pitcher, helped on offense with a hit and an RBI. The win improved Duluth to 17-10 overall and 5-6 in the region.
Central 15, Meadowcreek 0
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brooke Alexander went 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs on Tuesday night as part of Central Gwinnett's 15-0 win over Meadowcreek in three innings.
Kandi Duran, who was also the winning pitcher, had a double, triple and three RBIs, while Kara Hembree hit a solo home run. Cristy Garcia and Reina Carrera each added an RBI, while Taylor Hubbard was 1-for-2. Central improved to 4-13 overall.
West Hall 12, Lanier 7
SUGAR HILL -- West Hall outslugged Lanier for a 12-7 win over the Longhorns on Tuesday night.
Shelby Threlkeld went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for Lanier (8-17), while Hannah Coursey finished 4-for-4 with an RBI. Holland Coursey and Amberly Hays also each finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Mill Creek ends area play undefeated
HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek closed out its regular-season schedule in Area 7-AAAAA undefeated on Tuesday with wins over Norcross (25-19, 25-20) and North Gwinnett (25-22, 12-25, 25-22).
Kaitlyn Lattimer came up big for Mill Creek (28-11, 6-0) with 50 assists and three aces and while serving 11 straight service points in the clinching game against North. Jorda Rooks added 34 digs, while Kim Brody had 20 kills and 18 digs. Ashley Isaac finishing with 21 digs and 15 kills.
Duluth also faced North and Norcross and came away with a split, falling to North 25-13, 25-15, but beating Norcross 25-16, 25-21. Katie Powell led Duluth with seven blocks and seven kills, while Stephanie Dixon had four kills.
North, which moved to 40-8 overall and 3-1 in the area, was led by 19 kills from Kristina Stinson, 33 assists from Alex Panks and 10 kills and six aces from Miller Howard.
Peachtree Ridge wins two
NORCROSS -- Peachtree Ridge improved to 27-13 Tuesday night with a pair of wins, beating Meadowcreek 25-4, 25-10 and Collins Hill 25-23, 25-19.
Leaders for the Lions were Lucy Riddle (24 assists, eight kills, five aces, three blocks), Eleonora Porazzi (15 kills, four aces), Becca Meyer (eight kills, eight aces) and Lauren Greene (seven aces, four kills). Emma Briggette and Tae Thomas also each finished with four kills.
Collins Hill went home with a split after defeating Meadowcreek 25-5, 25-14. Top players for the Eagles (23-15) were Kathryn Ahlswede (33 assists, 14 aces, six digs), Jessie Price (eight kills, six aces, four blocks) and Caitlin Connor (five kills, four blocks).
Mountain View knocks off Dacula and Grayson
LOGANVILLE -- Mountain View picked up two wins on Tuesday night, sweeping Grayson 25-21, 25-18 while taking down Dacula in three games. The win improved the Bears to 15-18 overall and 5-2 in Area 8-AAAAA.
Alex Johnson led the Bears with nine kills and 100 percent in serving, while Meredith Allison and Michelle Moore led the defense.
Dacula battled Grayson and came away with a win in three games 25-19, 19-25, 25-17. Grayson, which fell to 10-12 overall was led by Alex Daniel with 15 assists, Hayley Myers with 10 digs, Erica Brown with six kills and Hannah Johnson with three kills.
Brookwood logs two sweeps
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Erin Shelton had 13 kills with five aces on Tuesday night in guiding Brookwood to two sweeps over Archer 25-19, 25-18 and Shiloh 25-12, 25-19.
Other standouts for the Broncos (32-9, 6-0) were Bethany Easom (nine aces, three kills), Sam Gratton (eight kills), Hannah Kitchen (seven kills) and Colleen Thompson (six kills).
Parkview tops Central and Berkmar
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Courtney Duck delivered 14 kills Tuesday night in helping Parkview to wins over Central Gwinnett (25-18, 25-17) and Berkmar (25-23, 25-22).
Erin Gilleland added 10 assists with two aces for Parkview (15-23), while Alli Taylor had 20 digs.
Berkmar needed three games to defeat Central and come away with a split, slipping past the Black Knights 25-22, 12-25, 25-21.
GAC improves to 33-4
SANDY SPRINGS -- Dede Bohannon tallied 19 kills with 15 digs Tuesday night as Greater Atlanta Christian rolled over Riverwood 25-23, 25-23 and Etowah 25-18, 25-15.
Janaya Simmons (20 digs, three blocks), Catherine Chason (29 digs), Rachel Waldrop (33 assists) and Ali Cox (eight digs) all each had solid games for GAC (33-4).
Buford posts two wins
DACULA -- Bailey Hicks guided Buford's attack with 26 assists on Tuesday as the Wolves topped Hebron 25-22, 25-23 and Yeshiva 25-8, 25-16.
Buford (18-10) also received 19 kills and 13 digs from Maggie Roper, 13 kills and seven digs from Jessica Falletta and 15 assists and five aces from Tori Payton.
Hebron moved its record to 23-15 by ending its night with a 25-5, 25-5 sweep of Yeshiva. Eden Murray finished with 17 kills, while Savannah Blalock tallied 27 assists.
Wesleyan defeats Cross Keys
NORCROSS -- Wesleyan's record moved to 26-11 on Tuesday with a 25-9, 25-8 sweep of Cross Keys and a 25-15, 25-16 loss to Blessed Trinity.
Leaders for the Wolves were Emma Bivings (five kills, four aces), Katie Van Laeke (eight kills), Kristen Pack (three aces) and Callie Bivings (22 assists, six kills).
Jones leads Stars to two wins
LILBURN -- Maddie Jones tallied 15 digs and 14 kills Tuesday night, leading Providence to wins over Paideia 25-23, 25-19 and Decatur 25-15, 25-13. The Stars improved to 22-16.
Kaitlin Harper added 11 kills, while Emily Schoone finished with four kills and three blocks. D'Anna Kester helped with 31 assists and seven kills with Codi Ann Amis adding 19 digs and four aces.
