LILBURN -- Police are asking for the public's help finding two men who attempted to rob a Lilburn bank earlier this month.

Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said the pair of black male suspects entered the Wells Fargo at 1028 Killian Hill Road multiple times on Sept. 16, changing clothes each time. On their third trip inside, they passed a note to a teller, demanding money and claiming they had a gun, Smith said.

The teller complied, giving them a bag of money along with a dye pack -- which ultimately foiled their robbery attempt.

"The dye pack exploded outside the bank and the suspects dropped the bag of money," Smith said. "They fled on foot to an adjacent parking lot."

Waiting for them was a four-door, white or silver passenger car with tinted windows, police said.

Both suspects were described as clean-shaven black males in their early 20s. One is approximately 6-foot-1 with a medium build, while the other is about 5-foot-2 with a thin build, police said. Several surveillance photos of the duo were released Monday.

Wells Fargo is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300.
