PREP ROUNDUP: Seniors lead North to win over Peachtree Ridge

SUWANEE -- Seniors Sydney O'Neill and Lacey Najafi helped North Gwinnett to a 12-3 win over Peachtree Ridge on Monday.

O'Neill was 3-for-3 with a run, while Najafi had a double and a run. Miranda Strother was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs, while Tori Prince was 2-for-2 with two runs and Kendall McKinney was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs. Morgan White was the winning pitcher for North (19-8, 7-4), allowing four hits, three earned runs and one strikeout.

SOFTBALL

Dacula 7, South Gwinnett 0

SNELLVILLE -- Dacula finished regular season region play with a 7-0 win over South Gwinnett on Monday.

The Falcons' offense was very productive with Caitlyn Daniels (1-for-4, two runs), Kendra Pfister (1-for-2, run, RBI) Brittany Taylor (1-for-3, double RBI), Madison Moseley (2-for-4, run) and Shania Norman (1-for-3, run) leading the charge. Keeli Waugh (7-9) was the winning pitcher, getting the shutout and allowing two hits for the Falcons (10-14-1, 3-4).

Archer 8, Morgan County 5

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Nani Cabrales hit a home run to lead Archer past Morgan County 8-5 on Monday.

Cabrales was 3-for-4 with three runs for the Tigers (19-8). Nicole Roberts (2-for-4, RBI, run), Aliesha Mann (2-for-4, three RBIs, run), Alliyah Williams (2-for-4, RBI) and Sharday Smith (2-for-3, RBI) also had big nights at the plate. Madison Wyngaert (8-1) was the winning pitcher, going seven innings and allowing five hits, two earned runs and striking out 12.

North Hall 5, Lanier 4

GAINESVILLE -- North Hall edged out a 5-4 victory over Lanier on Monday.

Lauren Pettit led the Longhorns' offense by going 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Holland Coursey, Hannah Coursey, Megan Kellett, Amberley Hays and Ciera Fackler each had a hit. Hannah Coursey and Kellett each had an RBI for the Longhorns (8-16).

Wesleyan 9, Pace 1

ATLANTA -- CaraMia Tsirigos and Dacia Jones each hit home runs to power Wesleyan to a 9-1 win over Pace Acadmey on Monday.

Landyn Duley went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs and Victoria Distasi went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Jones was also the winning pitcher, while Amanda deLaPerriere pitched the fifth inning for the Wolves (14-9, 6-1 region).

Providence 9, Fellowship 3

ROSWELL -- Jessie Kowalewicz hit a two-run homer to power Providence to a 9-3 win over Fellowship on Monday.

Kowalewicz was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Brittany Tuttle went 4-for-5 with two runs and three stolen bases and MacKenzie Tuttle was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Bri Canady (11-8) was the winning pitcher, allowing nine hits, one earned run and one strikeout for the Stars (11-12, 4-3).

North wins division at Brookwood Invitational

SUWANEE -- North Gwinnett went undefeated on the last day of the Brookwood Invitational on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (18-8-1, 6-4 region) got wins over Northgate, Kennesaw Mountain and Lowndes to finish 5-0-1 in the tourney.

North defeated Northgate 6-1 with the help of Mirand Strother's fifth inning grand slam. Tori Prince was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, while Alaina Hall was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs and Kelsey Summers scored a run. Hall (4-4) threw a complete game, striking out 10 and allowing one run.

Morgan White (5-1) picked up the win in North's 4-2 victory over Kennesaw Mountain. Strother hit a grand slam in the fifth and also doubled twice. Hall had two hits and a triple.

Senior Emily Wood (4-4) picked up the win in North's 5-3 victory over Lowndes, allowing three runs on three hits.

VOLLEYBALL

Buford wins two

CUMMING -- Buford defeated Milton 26-28, 25-22, 25-23 and South Forsyth 25-18, 25-20 on Monday.

Maggie Roper led the Wolves (16-10) with 26 kills and 23 digs. Jessica Falletta had 11 kills and 15 digs, Bailey Hicks added 34 assists and Mikhayla Riegal made 20 digs.
