Mountain View's Tim Hardy was announced Monday as the Atlanta Falcons high school coach of the week after his young program's recent strong showings in an upset of Mill Creek and a close loss to Peachtree Ridge.
Hardy will receive a plaque signed by Atlanta head coach Mike Smith and a $1,000 grant from the NFL's Youth Football Fund for the Bears' athletic department. His coaching staff also will receive coach of the week sweatsuits and his players will get coach of the week T-shirts.
The Falcons also selected the 9-year-old Parkview Panthers, who play in the Gwinnett Football League, as their youth team of the week. The Panthers will get $500 from the Falcons and the NFL's Youth Football Fund.
