PREP ROUNDUP: Buford's Overstreet breaks career RBI record

GRAYSON -- Lexi Overstreet broke the Buford school record for career RBIs Friday in the Wolves' 8-0 win over Fannin County in the Brookwood Invitational.

Overstreet knocked in three runs to bring her career total to 132. Alysha Rudnik, now at Georgia Tech, had the previous record of 129. Overstreet went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer (8) and an RBI double. She also scored three times for the Wolves (19-8). Jordan Deep was also 3-for-3 with a solo homer (5) and two RBIs. Madyson Wynegar added two RBIs.

Tessa Daniels (10-2) was the winning pitcher. She went all six innings for her fourth shutout and ninth complete game this season. She allowed two hits and struck out three.

SOFTBALL

Mill Creek 5, Franklin Co. 3

BETHLEHEM --Morgan Bell had three hits and two RBIs to lead Mill Creek to a 5-3 win over Franklin County Friday in the Brookwood Invitational. Bell went 3-for-3 with a double for the Hawks (21-3-1). Nikki Sagermann had two hits, a double and an RBI. Sagermann (4-0) also pitched a complete game, allowing four hits.

Collins Hill 7, Houston Co. 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Emily Buck pitched a shutout to earn her first win of the season as Collins Hill beat Houston Co. 7-0 Friday in the Brookwood Invitational. Buck (1-0) pitched a four-hitter and struck out one. She also went 2-for-4 with a triple. Brittany Roley added two hits for the Eagles (18-4).

Archer 3, Lowndes Co. 2

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Nani Cabrales had three hits at the plate and gave up one hit on the mound to lead Archer to a 3-2 win over Lowndes Friday in the Brookwood Invitational. The game was called after five innings when the time limit expired. Cabrales (7-4) pitched all five innings and struck out 10. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and an RBI. Alliyah Williams also drove in a run for the Tigers (17-6). Abby Lyall was 1-for-2.

North 5, West Laurens 5

CUMMING -- North Gwinnett came back from five runs down to tie No. 2 West Laurens 5-5 Friday in the Brookwood Invitational. Sydney O'Neill tied the game with a two-run single for the Bulldogs (15-7-1). Tori Price and Kendall McKinney also knocked in runs. Morgan White struck out two in four strong innings of relief after North fell behind 5-0.

Creekview 6, Wesleyan 1

ALPHARETTA --Wesleyan lost to Creekview 6-1 Friday in the Milton Tournament. Emily Farrow went 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Wolves (11-8). Dacia Jones was the losing pitcher.

VOLLEYBALL

Norcross splits at Blessed Trinity Tourney

ROSWELL -- Norcross lost to Roswell but rallied to beat St. Vincent's Academy on Friday at the Blessed Trinity Invitational. The Blue Devils (13-11) dropped the first match to the Hornets 25-14, 23-25, 15-7. Norcross then beat the Saints from Savannah in the second match 25-18, 25-23. Kamilah Bakari had 14 kills and 10 blocks in the two matches. Nicki White added 13 kills, while Louisa Luranc added 10 digs. Lauren Ranney finished the night with 32 assists.
