WINDER — Winder-Barrow was unable to shake its now 17-game losing streak as the swift Clarke Central Gladiators left them in the dust in a 44-0 win on Friday night.
The Gladiator defense was solid and took advantage of minor Bulldog mistakes .
Clarke Central’s running game was virtually unstoppable, and powerhouse Quenshaun Watson rushed for 58-yard touchdown.
Clarke running back Marquez Williams scored the Gladiators’ two first-half touchdowns, the first was a 4-yard rush and the second a 3-yard rush.
Cameron Johnson completed a 22-yard pass to senior Torey Gartrell for a 25 yard run and touchdown with 41 seconds left in the first half for the visitors.
In the third quarter, Johnson threw a 36-yard pass to sophomore wide receiver Amir Williams for a touchdown. Central’s Alex Harris recovered the Bulldog fumble.
Clarke gave sophomore quarterback Austin Johnson some playing time and on his second play of the game threw a pass to junior fullback Denzel Maxey who dove into the end zone with a 2-yard stretch.
