Craig Minis, left, and his daughter, Avery, are reflected in the rain puddle on Thursday evening at the Gwinnett County Fair. Rain fell at the fair early in the evening, but gave way into the night. Nicer weather is expected for the final weekend of the fair.
LAWRENCEVILLE -- If you haven't gotten out to visit the Gwinnett County Fair, this weekend is your last chance to ride the coasters, play the games and eat fried funnel cakes with your friends and family.
"Last Saturday was unbelievable with the amount of people who came," Dale Thurman, fair manager, said. "There is just something about coming out to the county fair on Saturday."
Thursday night may have been wet and drizzly at the Gwinnett County Fair, but the rest of the weekend calls for sunny skies with highs in the low 80s.
Organizers expect a large crowd this weekend, although they don't have the exact dollar amount of their sales yet.
"It's been so busy that we haven't looked at the numbers at all," Thurman said. "We've been looking at each day and it's been good."
The fair ends Sunday evening.
